The 2008 Jessie Hall Hemispherectomy Scholarship (JHHS) Winners Announced

The Hemispherectomy Foundation is proud to announce the winners of the
2008 Jessie Hall Hemispherectomy Scholarship (JHHS).

The JHHS is an academic scholarship awarded annually to young people who have undergone a
hemispherectomy and who have been accepted into an institution of higher
learning.

This years recipients will receive $1,000 toward books, tuition, or other
needs as they see fit to make their college experience more rewarding. Each year, the amount and number of scholarships is determined based on the number of applicants and the availability of funds.

The 2008 JHHS Recipients are:
Alaina Clements: Alaina is currently a Creative Writing major at Johnson
State College in Vermont. She is a Junior and will be graduating in May
2009 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Robert Hinson : Robert graduated from The University of South Carolina in
the Spring of 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a minor in
Political Science. He graduated Magna Cum Laude. In the Fall, Robert
will begin graduate work at USC in pursuit of a Master of Social Work
degree. He plans to be a Hospital Social Worker.

Jody Miller: Jody recently graduated from High School in Millersville, MD
and will be attending Eastern University in Pennsylvania as a freshman.
Jody will be studying Elementary Education and plans to be a Primary
School Teacher. Jody's passion outside of school is dance and she plans
to continue with her studies of dance in the university setting.

Please join me in congratulating these fine students on their
inspirational accomplishments.

The 2009 awards will be named at the Hemispherectomy Reunion in Baltimore in July. http://www.hemispherectomy.info/

I have used the video of Jody as a part of my Introduction to Psychology class. She is an inspiration and I have often wondered what she was dong. I would love to hear from her. Give her my best.
