A Bit of a Fever

http://www.prayforjessie.org

Jessie had a fever last night, and then again tonight. I don't think that it is anyting serious. Hemispherectomy kids commonly have fevers. The main concern is always septic meningitis, but this is not likely to be the problem.

It's kinda funny to see how different doctors handle things like this. The doctor last night saw that Jessie had a fever of 38.5 C and was ready to put her on IV antibiotics, which we ask him to wait til morning. By morning, she had no fever. This afternoon, she had a fever of 40 C and the doctor didn't blink. They're still doing some blood labs, etc to make sure it is nothing to be worried about.

Kristi is with Jessie tonight, and Jess is smiling and talking like nothing is wrong. Each day, more and more of her personality comes back. We are so thankful to be nearing the end of our journey.

Right now, the schedule is that we will be coming home on the 18th, and then into Cooks in-patient rehab. Nothing is final yet, however.

Thanks again to all of you for your prayers for Jessie and our family.

God Bless You! Cris

Hi, everyone,

I have been away for abut a week, first to spend time with my brother and other relatives, and then to attend the national convention of the American Council of the Blind in Louisville, Kentucky (had a great time). But... I am caught up with the blog entries that I missed while I was away. My prayer is that the set-back is just a minor bump in the road. I will continue, as usual, to check the blog daily now that I am back home, and I know that God will continue to bless all of you (Cris, Kris, Jessie, and the "stinky brothers".

I am so sorry to hear that Jessie is once again battling a fever. I know it must be tough to have these little setbacks, but Jessie is an amazing young lady. She has come so far and will continue to amaze us all.

It must be such a relief to see Jessie's personality slowly returning. From what I have heard, and read, about Jessie, she has an amazing sparkle about her.

I am delighted to hear that Jessie may be back on Texas soil by next weekend. How glorious that will be. Texas' little pink princess will be back in the Lone Star State. Praise God for His continued blessings.

I will pray today specifically for Jessie to fight off that fever and to continue to improve daily so that she may return to Texas on Friday.

Hugs,

Kristin

Cris - thank you to you and Kristi for keeping us up to date on Jessie's progress and the journey. I know I am like many who check in daily but rarely post a comment. Jessie has become a part of our daily lives as we pray for her and for you, praise God and smile with her progress and pray harder in our concern with any setbacks.

We can't wait to have you back home in Aledo.

I find myself worrying abut the persistant fever, but my fervent prayer is that God will enable the physicians to find the source so it can be resolved. Stay strong, Hall family. Jessie, keep up the hard work, and please do not be discouraged by the fever, either. Just keep plugging along as you have done thus far.

We keep up with the Blog every few days. I am glad to read that Jessie's personality is coming back day by day. She is a lovely little girl that will achieve everything that God has planned for her fabulous life. Thanks for your support for Logan while he continues to recover from his hemispherectomy.
